Production on Mortal Kombat 2 has officially commenced, though the film's release date remains unannounced. Hiroyuki Sanada, Tadanobu Asano, and Karl Urban will reprise their roles from the first film, with Damon joining the cast as Johnny Cage.
Expected Summer 2025 Release
Filming began in June 2023 in Australia, but was briefly paused in mid-July due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. Production resumed in mid-November and wrapped in late January 2024. Warner Bros. is expected to announce the official release date in January 2022, with a projected release window in the summer of 2025.
